Water Harvesting and Recycling – Capturing, storing and re-using water for your home or commercial building and landscape
Conserving and managing our precious water resources is a crucial element to living in our ever water-hungry world. Consider water harvesting and water recycling as key components in the overall theme of moisture management on your property. This class provides a great introduction to several solutions and systems for harvesting the water that falls on your property and re-using water used by your household.
We review active and passive systems and the related topics of conveyance, filtration, storage, and distribution. We review above-ground and underground cisterns, pumice wicks, French drains, infiltration galleries, as well as erosion control and storm-water management. We also discuss Gray Water and Black Water and the safe reuse of household effluent.
